Located
in the far east, Arunachal
Pradesh, until recently known as the 'Hidden Land', is a great
destination though far-off in east India on border with Myanmar. The
region had originally been explored by the British officers who included
some brilliant avian experts. It is an intensely picturesque and
kaleidoscopic terrain, criss-crossed by innumerable rivers and rivulets.
The heights of mountain peak ranges from 1,829 meters to 6,400 meters,
and the highest peak being in Tawaang district (7,090 meters).
Brahmputra, Tirap, Lohit, Siang, Subansiri and Kameng are the five
prominent rivers which add to the aquatic attributes. A range of
climbers, Cane, Bamboo and Orchids are the prominent wild vegetation,
nearly 450 species of orchids bedeck the wilderness of the region.
